WTF Happened? - Fantastic Four (2015)
For my first entry into the WTF Happened? series I take a look at the 2015 reboot of Fantastic 4 from 20th Century Fox and director Josh Trank and try to determine why it is considered one of the worst superhero movies made, and actually made the original Fantastic Four movies from ten years ago look better in comparison. Be sure to also listen to my full review/breakdown on The Jock and Nerd Podcast first. Here, I'll even give it to you.

The Return of the (Ginger) King and a Taste of Things to Come
Hello faithful readers!
If there are any of you still out there, I thank you for constantly reading the same things on this blog for the two-or-so years it has been since I have last posted. A career shift toward freelance writing, getting married, and all of these wonderful life events took me away from you. While my main freelance gig with The Nerdist has sadly come to an end, it means I can reset my focus on personal writing gigs, and attempt at a novel, and seek other outlets that may be so gracious as to let me rant about Batman or Star Wars on their behalf.
So, what can you expect from my triumphant return to The Ginger Geek Blogs? Other than rhetorical questions posed at my readers, I honestly can't say. I won't exactly be less busy than I have been, maybe even more so, but I will be making an effort to return to this blog to keep myself sharp, and my adoring fan satiated. I plan to start an ongoing series called "WTF Happened?" that will act as a companion piece to appearances I will make on the Jock and Nerd Podcast. If you don't know them go and listen, they are great guys and quite fun to listen to. I will occasionally be on their show, doing my own breakdowns and reviews of terrible movies, then offering insight into what the reasons for it sucking might be. Imagine it like How Did This Get Made? if they also looked into how a bad film, in fact, got made. (BTW, go listen to that podcast too.) [Edit: It seems Blake Harris from the HDTGM? team does go quite in-depth in researching the films the podcast does, and posts it every other week on /Film, so I will eat some humble pie now.]
"WTF Happened?" will compile behind-the-scenes research and speculation to paint a picture of why a bad movie is as bad as it is, and personal opinions on how it could have been saved. I welcome and encourage readers to respond back on these posts with any insight I may have missed, as well as their own opinions on what could have saved the various film so be on the lookout for that.
Otherwise, if I am not posting here be sure to also be checking How Do I Jump?, a gaming site I will be contributing to regularly as well as appearing on their podcast from time to time.
Thanks, again, readers. I love you all.

What Greg Rucka Proved (but Marvel still doesn't understand)
A while ago I re-posted the three (out of four) parts I wrote of an article for a different blog that took a look at the comic-book-roots and film adaptations of one of my favorite Marvel characters: The Punisher. I never actually finished that last part, so I figured I'd use part of what I planned on writing to make a different post for you all. This is a story about how one writer at a major comics company saved a character very few believed in, and how that comics company didn't seem to care.

My Hopes for Drew Goddard and Daredevil's Future
It was about a year ago that 20th Century Fox was given a time limit to get a script for a Daredevil reboot off the ground before the rights to the character defaulted back to Marvel. They didn't pull it off, so Marvel regained the film rights to The Man Without Fear and plenty of people (including yours truly) were quite glad to hear that.

Geek Rant: Bat-ffleck
Strange that my first post in a while is basically a continuation of the last one I did, but this time it's a little more defeated. It was announced yesterday that Ben Affleck has been given the role of Bruce Wayne/Batman in the Batman Vs. Superman sequel to Man of Steel 2. Here's how I'm reacting...
